Upgrading your PC is a relatively cheap, effective way to get the most out of your current PC for as long as possible.

For the average PC user, you are more likely to see a direct performance boost out of your computer by upgrading your RAM/memory, which also happens to be one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades to do.

Gamers are more likely to notice a significant boost in their gaming experience by getting a new video card. If you already have a motherboard and video card that support SLI, you can run an additional card in tandem with your current card.

Tip: You can also receive a noticeable performance boost by going to the 'Add/Remove Program' feature in Windows and uninstalling programs you no longer use/need. Quite a few programs are constantly running in the background on your PC, taking up precious CPU and memory time.
