Build A FAST PC

Software Fixes

Is your computer running much slower than it was the day you took it out of the box? This study, conducted by America Online and the National Cyber Security Alliance reveals that 67 percent of those surveyed had no or outdated virus protection or firewall software. 80 percent of those surveyed also had spyware programs on their computers, which is one of the prime causes for computer slow-down.

There are many firms out there that sell software to fix these problems, but I have always gotten by with free, public domain software that is at least as good as the software commercially sold.

The software I have listed on my Free Software page will protect you to the same degree as my Fast PC (bug-free 3+ years and counting!). I personally have never lost data or had my computer slow down due to malicious programs.

I suggest you try the Free Software fixes before buying any hardware to speed up your computer.
